Industrial Hoses

Industrial hoses carry air, water, steam, gases, fuel, chemicals, food-grade liquids and abrasive materials wherever rigid pipes are impractical or impossible. The Fadip range includes rubber, PVC, polyamide and polyurethane hoses for eight application areas, in diameters from 1 to 406 mm and for working pressures up to 80 bar. For every application we select the hose according to the medium, pressure, temperature and mode of operation (delivery or suction and delivery), and we also supply hydraulic fittings and ferrules.

Types of industrial hoses by application

Compressed air hoses for pneumatic tools, spray painting and general industrial use are rated to 20 bar, with heavy duty versions to 40 and 80 bar. The range also includes air brake hoses for vehicles and railways, and polyamide (PA11, PA12) and polyurethane (PU) tubing for pneumatic installations.

Steam and hot water hoses are designed for saturated steam (6 bar, up to +165 °C), superheated steam (18 bar, up to +210 °C, briefly 232 °C) and hot water pressure washing up to 50 bar.

Water and industrial liquid hoses cover air and water, dirty and oily water, high pressure irrigation, suction of water and abrasive sludge, and swimming pool systems, in diameters up to 305 mm.

Food industry hoses in PVC and rubber are designed for fatty, non-fatty and alcoholic liquids and for loading and unloading tankers in the dairy industry, for pressures up to 25 bar.

Chemical hoses carry acids, chemical liquids and fuel, in suction and delivery, up to 20 bar and +115 °C. Technical gas hoses for welding are designed for oxygen, acetylene and propane-butane, for pressures up to 20 bar.

Fuel, oil, dust extraction and ventilation hoses include vehicle fuel hoses, oil and fuel hoses for petrochemicals, crude oil hoses, and PVC and PU hoses for extracting air, gases and vapour with diameters up to 406 mm. Hoses for powders and abrasive materials handle granular materials, cement, sandblasting and spraying of plaster and concrete at pressures up to 40 bar.

How to choose an industrial hose

The key parameters are the medium (which determines the inner tube material: rubber resistant to oil, chemicals, food or abrasion, PVC, PU or PA), the working pressure with a margin for surges, the temperature of the medium and environment, and the mode of operation: delivery hoses work only under pressure, while suction and delivery hoses have a helix that prevents the hose from collapsing under vacuum. Hoses for food-grade liquids must be certified for food contact, and hoses for welding gases must be colour coded according to the gas.

Technical specifications

Working pressures range from 2 bar for large diameter suction hoses to 80 bar for heavy duty compressed air hoses. The temperature range is -40 to +120 °C for most rubber hoses, up to +210 °C for superheated steam hoses, and -5 to +60 °C for PVC hoses. Diameters range from 1 mm for pneumatic PA tubing to 406 mm for ventilation hoses.

Applications

Industrial hoses are used in the food and dairy industries, the chemical and petrochemical industries, construction (concrete, plaster, cement), agriculture (irrigation, animal feed, grain), municipal services, welding and paint shops, transport (air brakes) and dust extraction and ventilation systems.

Alongside industrial hoses we offer hydraulic hoses, hydraulic fittings and ferrules and pressure gauges for pressure monitoring.

For a quotation, send us the medium, inside diameter, working pressure, temperature, mode of operation (delivery or suction) and required length. Our technical team will recommend a suitable solution within 24 hours. Contact us.

Industrial hose FAQ

What is the difference between a delivery hose and a suction and delivery hose?

A delivery hose works only under internal pressure. A suction and delivery hose has a built-in steel or rigid plastic helix that prevents it from collapsing under vacuum, so it is used for suction of water, sludge, fuel and powders.

Which hose is used for compressed air?

For pneumatic tools and general use, rubber hoses rated to 20 bar are used; for heavy duty applications, hoses rated to 40 and 80 bar; and for pneumatic installations, polyamide and polyurethane tubing. See our compressed air hoses.

Which hose is suitable for steam?

For saturated steam, a hose rated to 6 bar and +165 °C is used, and for superheated steam a hose rated to 18 bar and +210 °C, briefly up to 232 °C. Ordinary water hoses are not suitable for steam. See our steam and hot water hoses.

Are food industry hoses certified for food contact?

Food industry hoses are made from materials intended for food contact, for fatty, non-fatty and alcoholic liquids and milk. When enquiring, state the medium and the certification required. See our food industry hoses.

Which hoses are used for welding gases?

Welding uses dedicated hoses for oxygen, acetylene and propane-butane, rated to 20 bar, with diameters from 6 to 10 mm. Each gas has a hose of a specific colour, so the hoses must never be interchanged. See our technical gas hoses.

Which hose should I choose for acids and chemicals?

Acids and chemical liquids require hoses with a chemically resistant inner tube, rated to 20 bar and +115 °C, in a suction and delivery design. When enquiring, state the exact chemical composition and concentration of the medium. See our chemical hoses.
